Hardik Pandya’s Central Contracts, which will be given by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in the coming days, have been downgraded significantly. The BCCI has placed Pandya, who was formerly considered one of India’s most valued players, in Grade C among the 27 players who will be handed contracts for the 2021-22 season. Shikhar Dhawan, the opener, has also been dropped from Grade A to Grade C.

According to individuals with knowledge of the situation, Dhawan’s C grade is due to the fact that he only plays one format – ODIs. Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant, on the other hand, stay on the A list for no apparent reason. Both are automatic selections for all three formats and have a track record of winning matches. However, they will not be promoted this time, and they will share a Rs 5 crore annual retainership with three other players: KL Rahul, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Mohammad Shami.
